Online Teaching Do’s #2: Use a Bare Wall Behind You

When teaching children online from home, it’s best to have a bare wall behind you—this helps eliminate distractions and keeps your students focused. In fact, many schools require this setup, even if not all of them state it clearly.

If a bare wall isn’t possible, try to find a spot with minimal distractions in the background. Taking this extra step shows professionalism—and your school or company will likely appreciate your attentiveness.

Personally, I use a simple blue wall behind me when I teach. It keeps things clean and distraction-free.

Happy teaching!
